ÖTILLÖ WORLD SERIES UTÖ UPDATED WITH A NEW RACE COURSE & SET UP.

A NEW RACE COURSE SEES THE LIGHT

Due to the regulations in Sweden of a maximum 150 persons in a race we have had to change things around. After lengthy discussions and several different plans we now have all the approvals needed!

Three starts on Sunday 20th

We have changed the race course completely. It is around 30 km in total length and much more technical with 95% of the running on trails. There are many swims (none longer than 500 metres) and lots of transitions. We are combining part of the regular World Series course with part of the #GarminUtöSwimrunChallenge course with part of the 2020 ÖTILLÖ Final15K course. This will be one of the most intense race courses we have. There are no racers who have done this course as of yet.

As we are only allowed 150 persons on the race course at the same time the only fair way of putting on a race is by separating the three categories. We will be starting all the Men teams in the morning. We will then have a Womens start and a Mixed team start after that. Make note of the new start times on the website.

Podiums, Ranking points and direct qualification

We will have a Mens podium, a Womens podium and a Mixed podium where everyone has raced under the same circumstances. Unfortunately, we can not have a physical prize giving as we are not allowed to gather people. The awards will be done by the finish line.

The ranking points will be distributed according to the overall times. The fact that you are not racing at the same time has minor effect as you are selected for the World Championship in relationship to your category.

The first three men, women and mixed teams that do not already have a spot will qualify directly to the 2021 World Champs. NOTE: If you want to qualify with your new race partner and you already have a spot you have to give it up before Friday, June 18th. Send an email to [email protected] if you want to give up an existing spot.

Ferries from the mainland

We have chartered ferries to add capacity for Sunday. Please let all Men teams needing to travel on the first ferry get on-board first. You pay for your ferry ticket on-board. The same applies for the chartered ferries and for the regular ferries. See the schedule on the website.

Make sure to follow the local health regulations. Please observe social distance and wear a face mask on public transportation.

Friends and family

We ask you to avoid bringing friends and family to the races. We still need to observe social distancing and avoid gathering people.
