Why Whistler?
Whistler is located in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, just two hours north of Vancouver. It is a legendary resort that attracts visitors from around the world for its exceptional mountain sports and down-to-earth mountain town feel. Two side-by-side mountains are connected by the world-record-breaking PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, which gives access to Whistler Blackcomb’s renowned alpine terrain, drawing hikers, skiers, and mountain bikers in search of breathtaking landscapes. At lower elevations, a coastal climate provides a lush contrast to the volcanic alpine environment. The place is full of energy and life.
Getting to Whistler
To get to Whistler your best option is to fly to Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Remember, for all you non-Candaians, you’ll need a passport. For a handful of states in the US (Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington) there are EDLs (Enhanced Drivers Licenses). If you have this type of license you can use it for travel to and from Mexico and Canada from the US and do not need a passport. Please check to see if you have this enhanced license, otherwise you will need a passport. From the Vancouver Airport, it will take approximately 2-hours to drive to Whistler.
