Clean the ocean activity in the Gothenburg archipelago

On June 9th 2023, more than 500 children between the ages of 6 – 16 years old took part in a #cleantheocean activity initiated by ÖTILLÖ and executed by the schools on Styrsö (323 children), Donsö (152 children), Brännö (44 children), and Aperö (29 children). Under the direction of teacher Kristoffer Wake and his colleagues, the kids split up on the islands of Donsö, Styrsö, Brännö, Asperö, and Vrångö and collected garbage at all beaches. The majority of the garbage was plastic bottles and plastic wrappings, which proves us all that everyone needs to reduce the single-use plastic items in our every day life.
On August 6th 2023, the ÖTILLÖ World Series will be back in the Gothenburg archipelago. Like in previous years, our races take place on the islands of Styrsö, Brännö, Asperö, Köpstadsö and Vrångö. We are dependent on clean, safe waters to be able to practice Swimrun and therefore, we want to say “Tack så mycket” to all kids. ÖTILLÖ handed all kids a neck warmer as a small thank-you-gift for preserving the environment.
