The Global Swim Series and the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series have signed a mutual cross-marketing partnership agreement.
The Global Swim Series (GSS), which is the largest swim series in the world, have held discussions with the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series, the largest Swimrun organization and founder of the sport.
The leadership teams of both organizations agreed that although the sports were different, they have a lot in common. Both organizations believe in promoting these closely related sports and believe that marketing cooperation will help to do this.
Given the common demographic of adventure loving swimmers and runners, many participants in either sport often have an interest in participating in the other sport. A big part of the growth of the Global Swim Series and the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series has been to actively market and promote their companies and sports.
The other thing that these organizations, and their participants, is that they all love being active in nature. This side benefit of this is how it also leads to a happy, healthy, active and adventurous lifestyle.
GSS President, Robert Kent, said: “We are excited to partner with ÖTILLÖ. Their creative and entrepreneurial spirit is a perfect match for us. The Global Swim Series is the largest swim series in the world, with over 115,000 participants, in 187 races, in 37 countries… and still growing. The goal of the GSS is to promote open water swimming and participation in the sport, as well as promoting a healthy, active and adventurous lifestyle. The GSS is based in Toronto, Canada and is now into its 5 year of operations.
ÖTILLÖ, which means “Island to Island” in Swedish, is the founder of the Swimrun craze that has grown immensely since the first race was held in 2006. This new endurance sport is driven by dedication and respect for yourself, your team partner, others and the environment. Swimrun is about experiencing nature in the purest possible way.
The ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship is held annually on the original course in the Swedish archipelago. The ÖTILLÖ World Series is a series of 8 races held in: Sweden, UK, Switzerland, Germany, France, Malta, Croatia and soon, the USA.
