We are delighted to present you our new ÖTILLÖ destination in Whistler, Canada, where you find a big network of beautiful forest and mountain trails next to sparkling glacier-fed lakes. ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Whistler will take place for the first time on July 7th, 2024.

Statement Dale Tiessen, Local Race Director ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Whistler

I am so excited to partner with ÖTILLÖ to bring a Swimrun event to Whistler. Since I first read about their Orcas Island event years ago, I have been planning to bring this cool new sport to our world-class endurance sport destination. Home of the 2010 Olympics, Whistler is built for year-round adventure and we look forward to welcoming you.

Statement by Lars Finanger, Director Swimrun USA Inc.

Whistler is one of the most iconic destinations in North America for adventure sports and we couldn’t be more thrilled to add it to our ÖTILLÖ Swimrun family. Dale’s knowledge of the Whistler endurance community is second-to-none and his excitement about showcasing Whistler’s finest alpine lakes and trails to the Swimrun community is contagious. We can’t wait for you to take on this epic challenge in July!

Statement by Christian Pirzer, Chairman Swimrun AG

ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Whistler is the first new event developed by our partners in the US, Lars and Aaron, together with Dale Tiessen from Whistler. It is exciting to see how fast our new team created an additional event to the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series on the North American continent. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the growing Swimrun community in Canada and the US to experience the magic of an ÖTILLÖ race in the beautiful nature of Whistler. We are also convinced that this event will be attractive for many European athletes to collect points for the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series ranking, to qualify for ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship 2025.

This legendary resort is an international mountain sports mecca and a down-to-earth mountain town. Alpine terrain draws hikers, skiers and mountain bikers in search of mind-blowing landscapes. At lower elevations, a coastal climate delivers a lush contrast to the volcanic alpine environment. Sparkling glacier-fed lakes, towering old-growth forests, waterfalls, beaches, and parks are linked by a network of paved valley trails.
