ÖTILLÖ, THE SWIMRUN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
Anyone who participated in ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship 2021 has their own film in their own heads.
This is a version of what happened on Monday, September 6th 2021. When 157 teams representing 20 nations took on the challenge of running and swimming over and between the 24 islands between Sandhamn and Utö in the Stockholm archipelago. In total more than 75 km of constant movement through the elements of which 10 km was open-water swimming and 65 km was trail-running.
Congratulations to the new Swimrun World Champions: Oscar Olsson & Adriel Young, Desirée Andersson & Victor Dahl, Kristin Larsson & Helena Sivertsson.
We have two new course records in Men and Mixed. We had 150 teams finish the race and our thoughts are with those two racers who got injured along the way.
Anyone who starts this mammoth of a race is a winner.
